Title:Electrodynamic properties of Co- and Ni-doped BaFe2As2 superconductors

Abstract:We have used optical measurements in a broad frequency range to investigate two iron-arsenic superconducting single crystals, Ba(Fe0.9Co0.1)2As2 and Ba(Fe0.95Ni0.05)2As2, with Tc= 25 K and 20 K, respectively. The overall behavior of the optical conductivity for two compounds is discussed and compared with measurements on non-superconducting single crystals of EuFe2As2. We use the extended Drude analysis to determine the frequency dependence of the scattering rate and effective mass. The detailed analysis of the far infrared conductivity, down to 20 cm-1, enabled us to establish the superconducting gap values, which we compared with those obtained by other experimental techniques (ARPES and STM). The current models and theories are discussed in the light of those new results.
